SIMPLIFYING SECURITY SOLUTIONS
1. CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE SOLUTION EASILY?
Can you diagram it on a piece of paper in a simple way? Can you explain it in plain terms? If you can’t, then it’s not simple.
2. DOES THE SOLUTION IMMEDIATELY MAKE SENSE?
Does it make you go “how come we didn’t do this before?” If it doesn’t then it’s too complex.
3. IS THIS THE RIGHT PROBLEM TO SOLVE?
Is the issue solvable with a simple solution? If it appears to be more complicated than needed, then we might not be solving the right problem. Some problems are not ready to be solved yet. Do we have other, more pressing priorities?
